Volunteer shifts are available seven days a week.
During the school year, shifts are:

Weekdays:   9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
                       2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Weekends:10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
                       1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Science Camp Assistant hours are 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

We accept applications from individuals who are 14 years and older. (Science Camp Assistants must be rising high school sophomores and older.) All volunteers must attend an orientation and training, at which time they sign a commitment and behavioral contract.

The Children’s Science Explorium is operated by the City of Boca Raton. As such, you will need to complete a City Volunteer Application Form.

Complete the form, indicating that you are interested in volunteering for the Explorium, and return it to Sugar Sand Park Community Center. The Explorium will work with the City’s Human Resources office to process paperwork.

Please note background checks are done on all individuals prior to the acceptance into the Explorium volunteer program.
