The Children’s Science Explorium is a hands-on science center designed for children ages 5 – 12 and their caregivers. Approximately 4,000 square feet is dedicated to hands-on exhibitry pertaining to the physical sciences. Additional space is devoted to education, including and indoor classroom and several outdoor teaching areas.
Last year, the Explorium hosted more than 5,000 students for formal education programs and enrolled more than 1300 participants in after school, weekend, and camp programming. Visitation varies between 80,000 – 100,000 individuals annually.
Operations:
Sugar Sand Park is owned and operated by the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District. The City of Boca Raton provides daily operation and maintenance. This 132-acre park continues its commitment to enhance the role of recreation and culture for residents and visitors alike.
Groups, including schools, who visit Sugar Sand Park and the Children’s Science Explorium must be based within the city limits of Boca Raton and/or the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District.
